Ultimate Roaster for roast night

No-mess roaster goes global

Thank you Tom Gillespie for the follow up article about my "invention" in The Chronicle. Very proud that the Ultimate Roaster can now be found in kitchens around the world and is stocked at Harvey Norman Bundall.

Here's what Tom wrote:

"A Toowoomba grandmother has taken her no-mess roasting pan invention global after customers snapped up her product across the world. A major Australian retailer has also picked it up.

Louise Barrett’s Hagane Home Ultimate Roaster, which she developed over several years, will now be in kitchens in Australia, the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Singapore and Germany after her team sent out more than 100 units through direct sales to customers.

It follows a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised more than $20,000, effectively helping to bankroll the product commercially.

The invention is engineered to allow air to crispen the roast while preventing the fat from escaping and dirtying the inside of the oven.

Mrs Barrett’s daughter-in-law Bianka said Harvey Norman’s Bundall franchise has also bought several Ultimate Roasters to use in its demonstration kitchen.

“It will be an add-on (to oven purchases), they have a chef and she’s starting to use it in their cooking demonstrations,” she said.

“We’re talking about lots of exciting things (with Harvey Norman), it’s the beginning of an exciting partnership.”

Ms Barrett said she and her mother-in-law had been overwhelmed by the feedback from customers.

“It’s definitely solving a real problem home cooks have every day — the feedback has been so lovely,” she said.

"To not have to clean the oven is so great, people are even making desserts in it.

“It’s about making it easier for people to bring back the nostalgia of the Sunday roast — it brings so much joy.”
